Ingredients: •2 pound of green beans, washed and snapped •1 teaspoon salt or to taste •1/2 teaspoon black pepper or to taste (I like lots of black pepper) •1 tablespoon olive oil or more if you like •1 tablespoon of butter or more if you like •(If you want old fashion green beans, put 1/2 pound salt pork in the pot for your fat and flavor instead of olive oil and butter. I like olive oil and butter myself - semi healthy.) Directions: In a heavy Dutch oven or large pot, combine the beans, salt, pepper, olive oil with enough water to cover. Over medium-high heat, bring beans to a boil and cover. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes or until tender. When ready to eat, add the butter if you dare. Makes 6 or 7 servings.
