Who is Family?
Matt: 12: 46-50 While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him. Someone said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You.” But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Behold My mother and My brothers! “For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.
Family is considered to be the people that you grew up with: your father, mother, and siblings with whom you share a common bond -and through a close relationship with them – they are the ones who provide a safety net during difficult times. Yet there are many people who have experienced multiple traumas in their growing up years or great sorrow through the loss of family members, and therefore holiday celebrations are painfully lonely. Jesus’ desire is to let you know that He is your family and is always there to provide comfort and a safety net in your time of need, and He reaches out to you as family and a friend today!
